Providing safe, stable emergency accommodation for young people

About our emergency accommodation

MANAWISE Care provide emergency accommodation for young people aged 12 – 17 who are at risk or currently experiencing homelessness.

We offer immediate, compassionate care for young people during times of crisis, ensuring their safety and wellbeing are prioritised. Through trauma-informed and culturally responsive support, we are dedicated to ensuring that young people feel safe, respected, and connected as we work together to find long-term accommodation solutions.

Supporting young people in remote and rural communities

In addition to our main service locations, we deliver high-quality care to rural and Indigenous communities through an innovative model that includes FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) with teams made up of experienced workers who have deep cultural understanding and strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. This ensures access to quality and culturally safe support even in hard-to-reach places so that no young person is left behind

How we support young people

Our emergency accommodation services are designed to provide compassionate care urgently, while catering to the needs of each young person. Young people accessing this service receive:

  • Safe, short-term housing in times of crisis with 24/7 staffed accommodation
  • Supportive care from trained staff
  • Individualised case planning and safety assessments
  • Coordination with child safety, health, and community services
  • Access to wraparound supports that build life skills, confidence, and independence
  • Cultural connection that supports Māori, Pasifika, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to connect with culture, identity, and community.
